International PhD course on acid-base and ion regulation in hypercapnic world

The project is aimed at revealing the capacity for adaptation to higher temperatures in species of major importance to aquaculture in south east Asia including Pangasionodon hypophthalmus, Monopterus albus, Channa striatus and to study the ability of local species of water plants (aerenchyma) that might be introduced to remove these toxins from the water column in a cheep and environmentally friendly fashion. This will be achieved with the following approaches:
On April 8th 2013, at the Hall II, Can Tho University (CTU) solemnly held the signing ceremony of Renewal MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Aarhus University (Denmark). The ceremony was honored to receive the representatives from Aarhus University, including Mr. Thomas Nielsen, International Advisor of Research, Talent and Internationalization, Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Mark Bayley, Head of International Committee, Faculty of Science and Technology; and Prof. Tobias Wang, Department of Bioscience – Zoophysiology.
Within two days, April 15th 2013 and April 16th 2013, the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries of Can Tho University (CTU) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) organized the workshop on Improving Market Access for aquaculture products and for small farmers and processors.
